As part of the Centenary of Scouting former Scout, Jack Petchey kindly donated the money to build the first of our new generation accommodation lodges.
The new lodge which sleeps fifty in rooms of one, two and four beds which all have en-suite bathrooms sets a new standard for the future comfort and enjoyment of our residential guests at Gilwell Park. The lodge also has a large main hall and full kitchen and laundry facilities to meet the demands of today groups.
Since its opening by Jack Petchey at Gilwell Reunion in 2008 the building has quickly become the most popular of the three Gilwell accommodation lodges. As with the Pack Holiday Centre and Branchet Lodge the Petchey Lodge is flexible enough to meet the changing and evolving demands of Leaders, teachers, Scouts and Schools alike.
