The Reception and Heritage Centre

This entrance and visitor complex will give most visitors their first impression of Gilwell Park. The initial concept is to have a bold glass fronted design providing a window into Scouting and Gilwell.

As well as providing a welcome and information hub to those using the day facilities it will also house a heritage centre and museum of Scouting. The heritage centre will tell the story of Baden-Powell and the history of 100 years of the Scouting Movement in an interactive and entertaining way. The museum will showcase related art and items from The Scout Association’s amazing archive collection. Memorabilia and collectable merchandise will be available to purchase from a souvenir shop located in the museum.
