A Vision for the future
The Gilwell Park Development is an exciting and ambitious project of a type rarely undertaken in the youth sector. The Scout Association is focused on the renewal of Gilwell and the resulting expansion of its facilities for Scouts and non-Scouts, locally, nationally and internationally.

How donations to Gilwell will be spent?
The money will be spent to help Gilwell do more of what it does so well by financing four main areas of development:

The Camp Square & Heritage Centre
Accommodation Lodges
International Staff Lodge
Ablution Blocks

Work has already started with architects providing plans and drawings of what the facilities could look like. You can view these by clicking on the links in the menu on the left. Provisional planning permission has been agreed for these future developments - we just need the money to make it happen.

How much will it all cost?
The total cost of the development at today’s costs (2009) will be in the region of £7.8 million allocated in the following way:

The Camp Square & Heritage Centre - £3 million
Accommodation Lodge - £1.3 million
International Staff Lodge - £1.5 million
Ablution Blocks x 4 - £500,000 each
